Nokia lowered its handset prices in late January, with the lowest smartphone already able to compete with Sony Ericsson and Samsung's midrange products, with a 10% per cent reduction. Nokia's cheapest smartphone 5230 has a retail price of about 170 euros (about 239 dollars) in Finland. The wholesale price of the handset has been below € 120.
