QT will allow software developers to develop applications that support both Symbian and Maemo platforms, say the source. Hubeltian said Nokia will continue to produce mobile computing devices using Maemo platforms, smartphones using Symbian S60 and ordinary handsets using the Symbian S40 platform, in which Symbian S60 handset prices will be very competitive this year. According to people familiar with the Nokia Product Development program, the Symbian S60 smartphone will account for about 10% of all Nokia handset sales by 2011 55%,symbian S40 handsets will account for the 35%,maemo product. Nokia also plans to release products using the Maemo 6 platform in the second half of this year. Nokia has launched a E72 commercial smartphone in the Taiwan market. E72 supports a variety of e-mail services, such as Ovi Mail, Yahoo Mail, Windows Live hotmail, and Gmail. Nokia sold 6.1 million e-series handsets and 4.6 million N-series handsets in the fourth quarter of last year. Last year, e-series and N-series mobile phone sales have reached 18 million units.
