Sina Science and technology news Beijing time June 19 Noon, the British High Court ruled that Nokia violated the IPCom patent. Nokia questioned the claim in the ruling and said IPCom's recent statement on the ruling had caused "serious misunderstanding". According to IPCom, Nokia violated the company's patent for assigning priority to users in its 3G network. IPCom said the British High Court's ruling made it possible to seek damages and suspend sales of Nokia-related 3G handsets in the UK market. "As far as I know, this is the first time a patent in the UK has been Bernhard Flovit for a 3G telecoms network, which is very important to the patent owner," said Bernhard Frohwitter, managing director of IPCom. However, Nokia denies IPCom's claim that Nokia's handsets have not violated ipcom's patents. "We are delighted that the British High Court has announced that Nokia's current products do not violate ipcom's patents," said Mark Durant, a spokeswoman for Nokia Mark Durante. This means that we can continue to sell these products legally. Nokia said the court had "ruled that some of the products that had been discontinued by Nokia violated the modified patents, which used older versions of the software, and that the new version of the software did not infringe upon the modified patent." "Since our current product does not violate the modified patent, there is no ban on these products and we can continue to sell them," said Durant. We will appeal against some of the contents of this decision. IPCom that Nokia's understanding of the verdict was inaccurate and said Nokia had two of its products on sale infringing the company's patents. The patent dispute between IPCom and Nokia has been going on for years. IPCom acquired the patents from Bosch in 2007. In 2003, Nokia failed to reach an agreement with Bosch on obtaining these patents. (D-Gold)
