"Communications Industry Network" June 16 morning News, Nokia Siemens (hereinafter referred to as "NSN") the latest test results show that Google's Android system and RIM's BlackBerry did not respond to operator calls to reduce mobile network signal load requirements. NSN's lab, which is responsible for mobile-phone-signal load tests, has found that smartphones based on the Android operating system and RIM's BlackBerry system do not meet the signal-load standards required by 3GPP, also known as the endless fast-control network. The most important feature of the standard is to specify how and how often the smartphone should be switched between the idle state and the active state of the handset, while minimizing the amount of battery usage, thereby reducing the signal load on the mobile network. Apple's IPhone4 meets this standard, so it can be combined well with the web, making the iphone a perfect network performance. Mobile operators are also widely required to supply them according to the standard. But the results of the NSN Labs show that the Android and RIM BlackBerry systems do not support an endless network of fast controls. NSN Mobile Broadband marketing manager Leslie Shannon said the Android system and RIM BlackBerry had expressed support for the standard, but apparently they did not. Google and Rim declined to comment. But Johanna Dwyer, senior director of Rim's standards department, made a commitment to the user. Dwyer said that next year's BlackBerry OS7 products will all support the endless fast control network. It is understood that the new BlackBerry Bold 9900 and 9,930 this summer were first supported by this standard. (Chepeng)
