In the last fiscal year ending March, Nokia Siemens Communications (hereinafter referred to as "NSN") has surpassed Ericsson in the Indian market, according to Voice&data, the Telecommunications Journal of India, said in a news report on the June 22 night of the Sina technology hearing. Voice&data data showed that in the 2010/2011 fiscal year ended March, Ericsson's Indian market had a revenue of 61.73 billion rupees (about $1.377 billion), down 29.4% from its last fiscal year. NSN's revenue was 61.77 billion rupees (about $1.378 billion), down 5% from the previous fiscal year. In addition, Huawei's revenue in the Indian market for the same period was 56.88 billion rupees (about 1.269 billion U.S. dollars), down 23.5% from the previous fiscal year. ZTE's revenue in India was 41.18 billion rupees (about $919 million), down 12.8% from the previous fiscal year. Voice&data noted that the decline in revenue from Huawei and ZTE was linked to a ban last year by the Government of India, where two companies were barred from supplying telecoms equipment to India for months. The Voice&data data also showed that Nokia's revenue in India during the period was 129.29 billion rupees (about 2.885 billion U.S. dollars), up 0.2% from the previous fiscal year. Cisco, which is 70.1 billion rupees (about 1.564 billion dollars), grew nearly 30% from the previous fiscal year. (Li Ming)
