NetEase Science and technology news November 28, according to Reuters reported, the United States solid-state hard disk (SSD) manufacturer OCZ Marvell said the Japanese Toshiba company submitted a bid. OCZ Marvell plans to file a bankruptcy petition, which fell 80% on Nasdaq in Wednesday, with a market capitalisation of only $43 million. OCZ said it had completed most of the negotiations with Toshiba on the asset purchase agreement and was expected to file a bankruptcy petition shortly after completing the final paperwork with one of Toshiba and its lenders, Hercules Marvell substituting capital. OCZ, which has not been profitable in the last 5 years, said it would immediately file a bankruptcy filing and liquidation if it failed to reach an agreement with Toshiba. For the last 1 years or so, OCZ has been facing a shortage of NAND flash memory. NAND Flash is used for general storage and data transfer of memory cards and solid-state drives, but it is in short supply due to strong demand from mobile device manufacturers. Joseph Wittine, an analyst at Longbow Joseph Wei, said: "OCZ bankruptcy is not surprising, we estimate that the company's cash can only support a quarter or so, do not see buyers willing to buy." "If there is an asset sale or capital injection, the best thing is that shareholders ' assets are diluted, but it is likely that shareholders will get nothing," he said. "OCZ has long been considered a target for hard disk manufacturers such as Seagate Technology and western data, and flash technology, an optical manufacturer. (Mushulin)
