BEIJING, June 15, 2011--Open Data center ALLIANCE,ODCA, which is the mission of open and interoperable cloud solutions, announced important milestones in Beijing today. In just seven months, the league's membership has grown by as much as four times times, with more than 280 global IT application leaders joining the Alliance, which have accumulated more than $100 billion trillion in it budgets over the year. The Open Data Center Alliance also established a working group, alliances with key industry-related standards-setting organizations and solution providers, and the release of the first cloud computing requirements, the first time that the alliance was released by end users, and the cloud requirements based on the priorities of the most pressing challenges they faced in it applications. This release will guide purchasing decisions for members of the consortium, while enabling vendors and solution providers to gain an in-depth understanding of the needs of their members, leading to the end user's cloud computing services and a new generation of data center solutions.

"By releasing the first Application Model roadmap, the Open Data Center Alliance has fulfilled its commitment to change the way data center scenarios are developed and used," said Matthew Eastwood, vice president of IDC Enterprise Platform research. "The Alliance has drafted and released the first batch of application model information so quickly, For the cloud computing industry, it is not only a sign that it is planning to prioritize data center and cloud computing planning, but it also shows the alliance's commitment to meeting the real challenges. ”

The first publicly released files of the Open Data Center Alliance include 8 open Datacenter application models that define the IT requirements for cloud deployment (Open Data Center Usage Models), and an Open data center vision for cloud Computing (open Datacenter Vision For Cloud Computing). These results provide the foundation for an interoperable, flexible, and efficient cloud computing vision. In addition, to promote the wider use of cloud services, these documents define a range of specific innovations in security interoperability, automation, unified management, policy development, and solution transparency. With these innovative applications, it is expected that annual IT spending will be reduced by $25 billion trillion within 5 years, while generating more than $50 billion trillion in cloud service innovation.

The first published application models of the Open Data Center Alliance include the following:

• Supplier safety and security monitoring (Provider security Assurance and monitoring): Standard security levels are presented for cloud services and validation to address the enormous challenges of cloud computing deployments.

• Infrastructure as a service directory and standard unit of measurement (service Catalog and Standard Units of measurement for IaaS): Compare the characteristics, prices, and performance of the private cloud with the public cloud to improve service transparency and reduce the difficulty of it decision-making.

• VM Interoperability and input/output control (virtual Machine Interoperability and IO Controls): Provides a technical basis for interoperability of cloud computing and the need to improve service quality.

• Regulation and carbon emissions (regulation and Carbon footprint Values): In addition to the requirement that cloud services meet government and corporate regulations, a means of making users aware of the amount of carbon dioxide delivered to their services is presented.

Mr. Curt Aubley, Vice president and chief technical officer of the Lockheed Martin Information Systems and global solutions company network security and Next generation Innovation department, who serves as the president of the Open Data Center Alliance, said: "The first batch of cloud computing customer demand is completely beyond our expectations, This reflects the focus of the 280-plus global membership on the topic of cloud computing. In a very short period of time, the Alliance convened global membership, set up a working group and developed the first application model, which shows how astonishing the resultant force is when the end user pulls together to contribute to the future of the data center and cloud computing development. The alliance will support members to adopt these application models as soon as they plan the cloud computing environment. At the same time, we encourage all vendors and solution providers to fully utilize the guidelines for these examples when developing new products. ”

The Open Data Center Alliance is working with industry-related standards organizations and vendors to translate these requirements into a solution that is backed by industry standards and can be implemented. Today, the Open Data Center Alliance publishes the following statements:

• Cloud Security Alliance (CSA): Define standards for security requirements.

• Distributed Management Working Group (DMTF): Defines IT infrastructure management requirements.

• Structured Information Standards Promotion Organization (OASIS): setting standards for transparency in services.

• International Telecommunications Management Forum Enterprise Cloud Computing Leadership Committee (ECLC): Enhanced cloud service definition.

"The release of the first cloud computing application model in the Open Data center could be seen as an important turning point for the cloud computing industry and end-users," said Sean Kelley, chief information officer and ECLC of Deutsche Bank platform services. The International Telecommunication Management Forum's Enterprise cloud Computing Leadership Committee and the Open Data Center Alliance both agree that it needs to be prioritized and that the cloud ecosystem is developed in the direction of optimal, resilient, and efficient management to deliver cloud services and deploy data centers. ”

To ensure that these application models are widely adopted and implemented by the industry, the Open Data Center Alliance is working with solution providers, including industry-leading data center hardware and software vendors and solution vendors. Companies such as Dell, EMC, Huawei, parallels and Red Hat are now joining the Alliance to work together to accelerate the time-to-market of related products in order to meet the requirements of an Open Data center alliance.

"Partnering with an outstanding global end-user organization such as the Open Data Center Alliance is one of the key strategies for EMC to accelerate the user's approach to cloud computing, business agility and efficiency." "EMC is pleased to work with other solution providers in the alliance to deploy flexible, hybrid cloud solutions to meet the needs of the first application models," says Doc D ' Errico, vice president of EMC Solutions. ”

All of the above statements have been approved by the Board of the Open Data Center Alliance, its Board of Directors is comprised of 12 of the world's leading companies in IT applications: BMW, Capgemini Consulting (Gemini), China Life, China Unicom, Deutsche Bank, JPMorgan Chase, Lockheed Martin (Lockheed Martin), Marriott International Group, National Bank of Australia, Terremark, Disney Group and Swiss banks.
