Open Data Center Alliance: announcing 8 Cloud computing needs

June 15 Beijing: This morning, the Open Data Center (http://www.aliyun.com/zixun/aggregation/13722.html ">open Data Centre Alliance, ODCA in Beijing announced significant progress since its inception last October.

Liubo, general manager of China Unicom's information Technology department, and member of the Steering Committee of the Open Data Center Alliance (SC), revealed that since its inception in October 2010, ODCA's biggest development has been the 8 cloud computing application models released today. These 8 models include cloud Security: vendor protection and compliance monitoring; Automation: Virtual machine Interoperability and IO control; general management and strategy: monitoring framework; transparency: Service catalog; standard unit of measurement; carbon emissions.

Liubo at the meeting also revealed some of ODCA's other developments, "ODCA's membership has increased 4 times-fold, members have about 100 billion dollars of it overhead each year, and 4 new collaborating organizations: Cloud Security Alliance (CSA); Distributed Management Working Group (DMTF) Structured Information Standards Promotion Organization (OASIS), International Telecommunications Management Forum Enterprise Cloud Computing Leadership Committee (ECLC). In addition, Dell, EMC, Parallels, RedHat, Huawei and other 5 solution providers joined.
