Out-of-control emails distract you.

According to the survey, 16% of the average working hours of American workers are spent viewing emails that are irrelevant to them. For 8 hours of work a day, this means wasting more than an hour a day. And some people spend more time, with 18% of respondents saying that their working hours, about One-fourth, or nearly two hours, are used to view unwanted emails.

Jive Companies calculate that these useless e-mails will add a $2 billion trillion cost to the U.S. economy every day, seriously affecting labour productivity.

So what do people do when they don't read their coworkers ' emails? They will talk to colleagues. About 36% per cent of respondents said that co-workers were the most distracting factor in their work, and were even more likely to cause distraction than some emails they didn't want.

Jive Companies will obviously benefit from such research. Because they are a company that sells collaborative work software, and the company's products can help employees interact, eliminating unnecessary emails and meetings.

But, we have to admit, today's emails are really out of control.
