Cooliris, from Palo Alto, has built a reputation for itself by sliding through pictures and videos. But they were unwilling to stall and released another mobile web app called LiveShare.
Co-founder and CEO Soujanya Bhumkar told me LiveShare solved a common problem with picture sharing, which is to control who can see the pictures being shared. With LiveShare, you can not only choose between sharing to everyone or a small group of friends. You can decide for each picture who can see it. Then only those invited friends can see these pictures. This is a change in the way traditional pictures are shared.
Co-founder and product director Mayank Mehta A number of examples to show how this pattern will be very effective. You can create a LiveShare event for a meeting or party, or you can create a LiveShare event that is shared in real time for a particular group of people.
Cooliris is one of the most innovative projects to move into the mobile market in recent months, but its model is quite different. Programs like Instagram and PICPLZ are dedicated to sharing your photos with everyone, and Path wants you to create a variety of private groups to share everything you have.
Cooliris the integration of new and old products will also be reflected in LiveShare, it will use Cooliris advertising technology. Their products Gallery users can directly use LiveShare to share their pictures.
Cooliris released the first version of LiveShare one months ago and has been aggressively promoting it in this week's Mobile world Congress.
The company also announced from earlier investors Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, dag ventures, the westly Group and Deutsche Telekom ' s t-venture There are 9.6 million of dollars of new funds available. The company has so far received a total of 27.6 million dollars in investment.
