IBM Infosphere Guardium is a software http://www.aliyun.com/zixun/aggregation/13681.html "> Data protection and encryption system. It provides limited access and encryption for files, file systems, and IBM DB2 files that are specified using policies. Figure 1 shows the architecture of the Infosphere Guardium.

Recommended deployment configurations for Infosphere Guardium agents on pureapplication Systems

The Infosphere Guardium Secure Server Data security Manager (DSM) is packaged as a device or software product called an Independent software PRODUCT (ISO). Either way, the current version of the supported DSB software base Operating system is incompatible with IBM Pureapplication™system's underlying operating system (Red Hat Linux 6.2).

Because of this limitation, the user's best choice is to install the DSM server outside the Pureapplication System. The file system (FS) agent is compatible with Red Hat Linux 6.2 (currently beta) and can be installed as part of a virtual application pattern in Pureapplication system. Figure 2 summarizes the recommended deployment configurations.

The DSM server stores the agent's keys and policies. The agent registers with the DSM and obtains its configuration from the DSM. Warning points (guard point, GP) are the starting point for applying a strategy. Agent intercepts any access attempts in the GP. The agent is located between the file system and the database management system (DBMS), as shown in Figure 3.
