realnetworks:1560 Million Dollar acquisition Slingo
As online gaming restrictions are gradually liberalized in the US, more and more European and American companies are getting ready to enter the gaming industry. Recently, RealNetworks bought the social gaming company Slingo at a price of 15.6 million dollars.
Slingo was founded in 1996, with the company's namesake game series covering slots and bingo. Slingo games can be experienced on a range of mobile and social platforms, with Facebook version of the game Mau the top 50 million. However, at present the game's Mau reduced to only 4.5 million.
"Slingo was once a very successful studio and has launched excellent work for many platforms over the past 15 years," Slingo CEO Rich Roberts said in a statement. Rob Glaser, RealNetworks's CEO, confirmed that the company was already preparing to develop a new Slingo version for Facebook,ios and the Android platform, and that the company needed a ticket to the social gaming market.
In the first quarter of this year, RealNetworks's gaming revenues amounted to $13.9 million trillion, but the operations lost to $ more than 1.7 million trillion.
