Recoll is a Xapian based personal full-text http://www.aliyun.com/zixun/aggregation/36559.html "> Desktop search tool. It provides an easy to use, feature-rich and GUI-qt Easy management interface features. Supports text, HTML, PDF, PostScript, Word, OpenOffice, WordPerfect, KWord, Abiword, Maildir, and Mail folder formats for mailboxes, as well as their compressed versions. Provides powerful query capabilities that support multiple character sets, internal processing, and the use of Unicode UTF-8 storage capabilities.

The Recoll version 1.16.1 fixes the problem of running query and indexing threads in the GUI.
