2.2 Start and end operations
2.2.1 Login
Logging in is the process of entering a username and password to indicate that you are a system authorized user, and this step helps maintain the security of your system.
Enter the login username and password in the Login dialog box and click <Enter> to enter the graphics environment.
When entering user names, passwords, and command names on a Linux system, be sure to be case-sensitive because uppercase and lowercase letters represent different meanings in Linux systems.
When you first log on to the system after the installation completes, log in with the root account and enter the root password that was set during setup. If no password is set for root during installation, the root account's login password is empty. Please set the password for root and create additional system users as needed after logging on to the system.
Root is called Superuser and has unrestricted power in the system. Therefore, users are advised: In order to avoid the loss caused by misoperation, it is generally not necessary to use the root account in daily work unless the system is configured and managed. After the installation completes the first login to the system as root, you should add the required ordinary user account in time.
To add and manage users in a graphical environment, you can use the Local Users and groups management tool in Control Panel. Please refer to section 3.3.11 of this manual: User and Group management. For more detailed user management, refer to section 8.3 of this manual: Managing Users and user groups.
