Kontact is an integrated personal information management program that integrates several existing tools, including KMail, Knode, Kaddressbook, Korganizer, knotes, into the same interface and provides a summary interface, Make it an efficient software.

Kontact the use of different applications as components, Advanced component Framework allows kontact not only to fully provide each individual application functions, but also added many new features. From the Start menu, select Office software → Personal information manager to open the personal information manager.

7.2.1.1 Overview

By default, startup Kontact displays an overview window that lists the icons for the currently available components in the left column of the main window, and the corresponding "overview" main interface on the right, which contains the key information for each component, such as appointments, to-do, special dates, new letters, and so on.

Clicking on the icon of a component in the sidebar activates the application, and the window to the right displays the application's main interface, and the Kontact Window menu, toolbar, and status bar are also changed to match the active component.

Select settings → Configure summary view in the menu, pop-up the Configuration Summary View dialog box, and users can customize the components shown in the Kontact sidebar to suit their needs.

7.2.1.5 Diary

"Diary" is a small electronic note that can be used to temporarily record the trivial affairs of the day for later inspection. Clicking the journal icon in the sidebar will launch the Kontact knotes note plug-in, which will appear in the main window.

Note Interface

Click the new Journal button in the toolbar, or click Add Journal entry after the date in the right window, and the Edit Journal Entry window will pop up and enter the journal's title to write activity.
