Open source software and cloud management maker Red Hat issued a quarterly financial report in Thursday, showing profits in the third quarter and announcing the acquisition of cloud computing software supplier Manageiq.

In the third quarter of its fiscal year, Red Hat reported a 343600000 dollar rise to 29 billion, up 18% from a year earlier. Net income in the quarter was $34700000 trillion, up 38200000 dollars from a year earlier. Brian Van, senior director and general manager of Red Hat Cloud, said in an interview with CRN reporters that Manageiq's technology would expand Red Hat's enterprise-class hybrid cloud management capabilities.

"They have a very strong technology in cloud-based business management, such as business process cloud workloads, monitoring and charging back," says Brian. "Red hat has a very strong portfolio and builds a hybrid cloud strategy for the enterprise."

"Manageiq will bring our portfolio to business management capabilities," he added. Red Hat represents the MANAGEIQ technology that integrates and manages the extended cloud management offerings for mixed cloud and Red Hat Enterprise virtualization management, including several Red Hat cloudforms.

Manageiq is a platform for corporate cloud, which is a full cash transaction with a total value of 104 million dollars. With this acquisition, Red Hat can be a good transition for the enterprise's consolidated server to the private cloud. At the same time, expand their capabilities to introduce MANAGEIQ monitoring and management tools into existing solutions.
