According to an interview with 23,000 respondents in 23 countries and regions, including China, nearly all of the respondents used the internet every day, the results of which could represent the views of 620 million people.
Globally, 75% of consumers watch streaming video several times a week, and 77% of consumers watch traditional radio and television programs every week, the report says. Xu Xiaoli, director of the East Asia of the Ericsson Consumer Laboratory, said that the drawbacks of the traditional radio and television service directly affected the user's media consumption experience and led to the reduction or even discontinuation of radio and television services. For example, for Chinese cities with 20-24-year-old users, the proportion of users watching radio and television every day fell from 63% in 2012 to 3721.html ">2014 35%."
Research shows that mobile terminals play a more and more important role in video viewing, but the factors that hinder consumers from watching video on smartphones include: Price, network performance, content itself. 47% of Chinese users surveyed believe that network performance restricts their ability to watch video on mobile terminals.
The study also shows that audiences are increasingly demanding on video quality, with 71% of Chinese city users emphasizing the importance of high-definition quality, with 45% of users saying they are "willing" to pay for 4K/UHD.

The Ericsson report argues that media companies need to rethink how to produce and deliver content, and the focus of television service providers is to provide the best possible viewing quality for viewers, regardless of the device they use. "If you want to continue to deliver perceptible value to consumers, then business and delivery patterns must keep pace with change." "(Chen)
