Apple iOS and Google's Android operating system are still the most popular platforms for mobile software developers, but Microsoft and Rim have also won more developers ' hearts as a variety of Tablet PCs are listed, according to a report published in Tuesday by IDC, the market research firm, and the application platform Appcelerator. Of the more than 2,200 developers surveyed, 92% are deeply interested in the iphone, and the iphone now has 300,000 third-party apps to support it. The survey also shows that many developers are looking to launch more complex applications for more platforms.

Scott Schwarzhoff, vice president of Appcelerator, said: "Cloud connectivity, location-based and social networking will be the most area of concern for most applications this year and for the future." "Many respondents said:" Last year I was mainly holding a try, this year will be more efforts. ’”

Developers ' concerns can help predict whether a platform will be popular with consumers, because consumers are interested in the ability to access news or share prices, calculate running mileage, or find applications near hotels, preferring to choose devices with more applications.

Apple's ipad tablet and Android phones are second to developers ' attention, with 87% of respondents claiming to be interested in both platforms. Android phone manufacturers include HTC, Samsung and Motorola.

The Android tablet, which includes Samsung Galaxy Tab and Motorola Xoom, has shown its popularity this month at major electronics exhibitions, attracting 74% of developers ' interest, up from 62% last September.

Second echelon

RIM's BlackBerry Smartphone platform and Microsoft's Windows Phone 7, launched last October, are now in the second tier, far behind Apple and Android, but are also widening the gap with Nokia's Symbian and the planned Meego platform, The percentage of attention is at least 20%.

One of the biggest developers ' concerns was that Rim's tablet computer playbook,28% said they were focusing on playbook, compared with 16% in September. RIM, which launched the product last September, strongly recommended it to developers. Playbook is expected to go public this March.

"Frankly, three months ago we thought playbook would never be a big success," says Swazzov. "He pointed out that many companies" understand the BlackBerry, understand Rim, the company has formed a standardized view, and that we need an enterprise-class tablet computer, if rim will launch such a product, this deserves our attention. ”

As the tablet computer has become more concerned, the respondents ' interest in internet TVs has fallen, with a sharp drop in concerns about Google TV and Apple TV.

Respondents from Europe or North America accounted for 40%, while the remaining 18% were from other parts of the world.
