As more people begin to rely on the fact that mobile devices are accessing such things as social networks, mobile video sites and location-based services, companies that have long seen mobile platforms as their focus are already benefiting.

In this respect, the well-known market research company BI FDI recently released a new research report. In the report, the agency detailed the impact that this latest trend could have on modern businesses. The following are some of the main points of the report that we have selected from the famous American science and Technology Media Business Insider:

1. Consumer Mobile Equipment usage has reached record highs. For now, American consumers are spending nearly one-fifth of their total media consumption on mobile digital media, a percentage increase of about 500% per cent compared with 2009.

2. In fact, we are now at a critical juncture when consumers spend almost as much time on the mobile side as they spend on traditional devices, including desktops and laptops.

3. The mobile end was the only media consumer platform for growth in the daily media consumption of American users during the 2010-2012.

4. During 2013, tablet shipments increased by 83%. Meanwhile, traditional PC shipments are down 13%.

5. There is no doubt that the current mobile video industry is already very large, but this industry is still likely to usher in a further leap in the future. One of the most important trends is that consumers are starting to watch more video content on their mobile devices, and that the length of time that mobile-end consumers watch video is increasing, providing a great opportunity for some mobile marketers to build ads in streaming video.

6. Currently, up to 219 million of consumers who use mobile-only access to social networks have accounted for 20% of Facebook's total user base. June 2013, the United States well-known photo-sharing website Pinterest Mobile end user base also increased by 28% to 18.3 million people. It's important to note that Facebook is still doing a good job with its mobile advertising revenue, which accounts for 41% of the company's total revenue.

7. Traditional Web search has also begun to transition more and more to the mobile end. Currently, users ' search through tablet computers and smartphones has accounted for 26% of total search traffic.

8. Although Google (Weibo) is still the dominant local search advertising revenue, but the U.S. consumer review site Yelp has also benefited from the broader trend of local mobile search, which has been able to attract some targeted local search requirements and, to some extent, influence Google's revenues. In addition, the BI FDI also expects this so-called local search influence will be further enhanced in the next few years.
