Research says hackers can control the steering wheel and brakes of smart cars

The so-called smart cars are not safe and hackers are fully capable of using technology to control the steering wheel and braking systems, according to a report published in the online edition of Wired magazine.

Two technical experts, Charlie Miller and Chris Valasaik, rated a variety of models and said they had been hacked into the Ford Wing Tiger and Toyota Prius by a laptop last year, gaining access to the steering wheel and brake control of the vehicle.
