28% of companies and institutions say they are using cloud applications, and most of these organizations say they will postpone further deployment of cloud computing due to security concerns.
According to the first cloud tracking report released by the technology products and service Provider CDW LLC, a number of companies and institutions are not deploying more cloud technology because of security problems with cloud applications.
The study surveyed 1200 IT experts from U.S. businesses, government agencies, education and healthcare organizations to assess the current and future use of cloud computing. The report says 28% of U.S. organizations are currently using cloud computing. 73% of these organizations say their first step into cloud computing is to implement a single cloud application.
However, many of these companies using cloud applications say they do not intend to deploy cloud computing further because of security concerns. The survey found that 32% of organizations already using cloud computing and 45% of IT management of organizations that have not yet used cloud computing have made cloud security the biggest obstacle to further deployment of the cloud. More than half of the organizations have misgivings about cloud computing. 53% of IT managers expressed concerns about security and showed that their organizational management did not trust data security in cloud computing. Nearly 40% of IT managers say they do not believe that cloud computing is as secure as their own devices.
