Riverbed expands cloud storage ecosystem

The Whitewater gateway ecosystem has added a cloud storage solution that includes Windows Azure, Rackspace®cloud files™, and OpenStack Object Storage (Swift), including commvault® Backup software simpana®for Backup and Recovery, Hp®data protector veeam Backup & replication™, and including Microsoft SQL Server Backup Key database protection solutions with restore and Oracle®recovery Manager (RMAN). By providing users with more choices and greater flexibility, riverbed ensures that users can safely switch to cloud storage without taking into account location and data protection applications to enhance their data protection policies to better meet business needs.

· Windows Azure:

Windows Azure is a cloud-based service platform that is the foundation of Azure service platforms. The Azure service platform provides a low level of scalable storage services.

Riverbed currently supported solutions include CA arcserve®backup, EMC NetWorker, IBM Tivoli Storage Manager, quest®vranger® As well as Symantec's NetBackup and backup Exec. Recent new support backup software has CommVault Simpana for backup and Recovery, HP Data protector and Veeam backup & Replication. After adding support for these software, riverbed now supports a 85% of the number of vendor software solutions in the backup software market, according to a Gartner survey.
