According to a regulatory document submitted to the SEC, the CRM software service provider Salesforce.com has reached an agreement with the acquisition of a large data start-up Relateiq of $390 million.

Relateiq, a start-up based on large data for intelligent customer Relationship management, was founded in 2011 by CEO Steve Loughlin and CTO Adam Evans. Users can manage their customers and contacts through RELATEIQ, automatically organize and manage their names, phone, company, mail, and so on, and associate them with Gmail, Google Calendar, Office 365, and so on, and can also associate the contact frequency of these people, prioritize the contacts. And according to contact information for them according to different companies, organizations, categories and other intelligent classification. Its customers mainly for the enterprise Customer Sales/marketing team.

Unlike traditional CRM, Relateiq also helps businesses and employees track customer relationships automatically through a wide range of real-time communications, and can analyze emails and call histories. This data-driven application allows the average end-user to manipulate the data, which is the next-generation CRM service.

The RELATEIQ was therefore favored by investors who had already received 69 million of billions of dollars in financing and valued at $245 million in the most recent 40 million dollars. Its investors include Accel Partners and Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz (whose collaboration tools asana also use Relateiq), former executive manager Bill Campbell and LinkedIn's former chief scientist DJ Patil.

For Salesforce.com, such data-driven software poses a challenge in the long run, so it's a good move to buy an opponent early. Steve Loughlin, commenting on the company blog:

Salesforce.com is a pioneer in the transformation of Enterprise cloud computing, redefining modern CRM. Relateiq is the pioneer of the next generation of intelligent computing using data science and machine learning. Looking ahead, Salesforce.com's acquisition of RELATEIQ will extend Salesforce.com as a #1crm application with a new layer of intelligent injection into sales, services and marketing.
