The time has come for Chinese handset makers to rise. In the second quarter of this year, China's nine largest handset makers accounted for more than the total share of Samsung and LG in the world, according to a recent report by the South Korean Industry Alliance (Klosterman). China's nine global smartphone makers refer to Huawei, Lenovo, Millet, cool, ZTE, TCL, Vivo, Oppo, and Gionee, which accounted for 31.3% of global market share in the second quarter of this year. Among them, Huawei, Lenovo and Millet's joint market share of 17.3%, more than Apple 5.4%. In the second quarter of 2012, China's smartphone in the global market accounted for only 14.6%, when China also had only five global suppliers, Millet is still in the initial stage. In contrast, South Korean manufacturers Samsung and LG market share of the decline. South Korea's market share in the second quarter of 2012 was more than twice times that of China, accounting for 34.8%, and now Samsung's market share has fallen by more than 6% per cent. Klosterman said one of the direct reasons for the sharp drop in South Korea's handset market was the advent of China's high cost-performance smartphone.
