Samsung develops transparent flat panel display that can replace Windows

Samsung Electronics has developed a transparent flat panel display that can be used as a window. When used in office windows they can display news or time, in stores they can also display special flash, while also allowing customers to see the products inside the window.

Samsung displayed the concept display at the FPD International Exhibition in Japan, attracting a lot of people to come and see it. The product is based on OLED technology, as a retail area development of the application products. Consumers can easily see the inner display through the display screen. In the OLED display, individual pixels contain organic ingredients that glow when energized, so the display can be seen either day or night.

' We can imagine that when your office uses this transparent display, there's a lot of basic information that can be displayed, like today's news, calendar, weather and even Twitter, ' Jongseo Lee, Samsung Electronics, said in a demonstration of the product. In the office it can be used to show the work, and in our home kitchen can be installed to display recipes.

Samsung Electronics also says users don't have to worry about the safety of the product's use, because it's reflective when seen on the back during the day, and even light at night.

However, we can clearly find that the High-tech window screen has some obvious flaws. They may be much more expensive than the ordinary glass we have to replace. And they can only do as much as they now display products. For LCD display is 2.1m*2.4m. This size is much smaller than the shop window.

Samsung said it had experimented with the technology on a small scale in South Korea and would operate commercially in 2011. There are a lot of people who might want to express concerns about information and digital excess, but for companies like Samsung, developing such new products is good for the company's business expansion.
