Samsung and Apple are two of rival rivals in the mobile phone market, but Samsung is also one of Apple's key suppliers, making critical parts such as Apple's processor. In recent days, according to Etnews, an insider said Samsung had started this week to produce a A9 processor using 14nm FinFET technology for Apple. It is worth mentioning that the production of the A9 processor was completed at Samsung in Austin, Texas, which is one of Apple's plans to move its processor production back home to the United States. There are rumours that Apple and Samsung have agreed on processor production, and that Samsung will not only take back the number of orders taken by TSMC when producing A8 processors, but will also be the first to use 14nm FinFET technology in production. Meanwhile, in Friday, it was also reported that TSMC is still perfecting the 16nm FinFET plus process, which was put into production this July. In an attempt to reverse the situation, Apple has made a big impact on Samsung's processor business by handing over most of its orders to TSMC, and Samsung is hoping to A8 its losses by winning Apple's trust again through the 14nm process. In fact, as early as August this year, there is news that Samsung will be the Apple production of 14nm process A9 processor, and said the formal production work will start at the end of this year. In addition to Samsung, Qualcomm and AMD will also use the technology in processor production. Prior to IPhone6, all of Apple's low-power arm processors were manufactured at Samsung's factory in Austin, but Apple delivered a large portion of its orders to TSMC, starting with the A8 processors used in the iphone 6 and iphone 6 Plus. Although the specific ratio is not yet known, there is news that Samsung has only received about 40% of the A8 processor orders. As a next-generation product of the A7 processor, the A8 processor employs a 20nm process. Because smaller processors can reduce power consumption while improving performance, the importance of the iphone is naturally self-evident. From the current test, the 20nm A8 processor, designed by Apple, has not only been very prominent in run-time testing, but it has also kept the iphone 6 and iphone 6 Plus life at a fairly good level.
