Tencent Science and technology news according to an audit report published in Monday, Samsung Electronics, the world's largest smartphone maker, dropped to its lowest level in 8 years in South Korea last year, the biggest reason being the decline in the handset business. In fact, Samsung Electronics last year's net profit also fell to the lowest level in the last 3 years.

According to the audit report, Samsung Electronics 2014 in the South Korean market net revenue reached 20.7 trillion won (about 18.8 billion U.S. dollars), compared with the previous year, a 9% reduction.
Net revenue refers to the income of a company's merchandise sales minus the internal transactions between subsidiaries. For example, the cumulative return on a product line to revenue is not included in this data.
Samsung's net revenue in South Korea has been growing rapidly since 2007, with the data rising to more than 20 trillion won (about 18.16 billion US dollars) in 2007, from 18.8 trillion won (about $17.07 billion) a year ago to 21.1 trillion won (about 19.16 billion dollars).
And since then, its flagship Galaxy smartphone has begun to provide a significant contribution to net domestic revenue. The Samsung Electronics mobile division last year had net revenue of 11.2 trillion won (about $10.17 billion), down 19.5% from the previous year.
Display panel Business 2014-year net revenue of 25.7 trillion won (about 23.34 billion U.S. dollars), a reduction of 13.8% from the previous year, pulling down the company's total net revenue.
Samsung Electronics's net profit for 2014 years was 23.4 trillion won (about 21.25 billion US dollars), to its lowest level since 2011. Profits from the mobile business were slashed by 64% in the fourth quarter of 2014, only 1.96 trillion won (about $1.78 billion).
However, the weak sales posture of Samsung Electronics in South Korea's domestic market is dwarfed by its performance in other parts of the world.
Net revenue fell by 22.7% in 2014 from the European market, after the European market in China, where net revenue fell by 17.7% in the Chinese market in 2014.
Net revenue fell in the third place in South Korea, where net revenue fell by 6.6% in Asia and Africa, and net revenue in the US was down 1% per cent.
By the end of 2014, net revenue in the Korean market accounted for only 10.1% of Samsung's total net revenue. The U.S. market accounted for a rise in net revenue in the first place, accounting for 33.3% of Europe and Asia and the African region net revenue accounted for about 20%, the Chinese market net revenue accounted for 16%.
