Samsung suppliers re-exposing child labor: use of vocational school as cover

Chengdu Urban Construction Vocational School teaches automotive repair, mechanical and electronic manufacturing courses. But China Labor Watch says the school is a cover for Samsung suppliers who illegally hire students to plant phones for Samsung. Samsung, Chengdu City Construction vocational schools, factories have all denied the allegation, but China Labor Watch said the evidence has been obtained. "We did not send students to work in any factory," said the official of the Chengdu Vocational School of Urban construction in Wednesday. On the same day, Chinese Labor Watch said it had collected more evidence and issued a report on the new findings. In August this year, China Labor Watch said Samsung's supply of Huizhou Electronics (Huizhou) employs more than 10 child labourers to produce products at the Huizhou plant. One of them is only 14 years old, below the minimum age limit for factory operations. Samsung then swiftly dismissed the accusations.
