The quarterly server shipments of 2.1 million units, an increase of 8.5%, ranked in the calendar year two quarterly shipments of the second. IBM and HP ranked among the top two server manufacturers, with a market share of 30.5% and 29.8% per cent. IBM's two quarterly server revenue grew 24.5% and its share grew 1.6%. HP's quarterly revenue grew 9.3% per cent year-on-year. Dell ranked third, with a share of 13.8%, with revenue growing 5.1% per cent year-on-year. In addition, Oracle and Fujitsu's server market share for the quarter was 7.2% and 6.5% respectively. Market demand for x86 servers continued to rise, with revenues rising 15.1% to 8.4 billion dollars year-on-year, with shipments growing 5.4% to 1.9 million units. HP, with a 38.1% per cent share of the first, grew 14.4% from a year earlier. Dell is in second place, share 21.7%. IBM ranked third, share 16.1%. Microsoft Windows Server revenue continued to grow strongly, with revenue of 5.9 billion U.S. dollars, which accounted for 45.5% of the total quarterly revenue and 71% of the total quarterly server shipments.
