Diane Bryant, Intel's senior vice president, announced in the Beijing IDF that the first micro-service Atom processor would debut in the second half of this year to meet new arm challenges. The new Atom development Code Centerton, using SOC chip system high integration design, single chip to get everything done, energy efficiency even lower than the current integration of the atom still higher, thermal design power consumption only 6 W.


Intel now has some Micro server processor products, but the power consumption is much higher, such as Xeon e3-1220l, Pentium 350 respectively 20W, 15W, the planned 22nm Ivy Bridge low power version Xeon will have at least 10W.
