September 5 News, according to foreign media reports, including Microsoft, Acer, Vodafone and other foreign more than 200 large Web sites were attacked by Turkish hackers, Web site DNS entries were tampered with and jump to a Turkish website.

From the approach of the attack, security insiders suspect that the same group of Turkish hackers who attacked a number of South Korean websites last month. A total of more than 200 large websites, including Microsoft, Acer, Vodafone, UPS.com, theregister.co.uk, and a number of South Korean websites, were attacked, some sites were breached and another part of the site was jumped to another page created by hackers.

Although many of the sites that were attacked quickly recovered their services, they took 72 hours to conduct the new configuration because they were built entirely on the DNS system. After the DNS entry has been restored to its original settings, some sites are still in a downtime state.

Last month, as the Turkish hacker group breached the website of the domain registrar gabia, exposing more than 100,000 domain names and 350,000 users, hackers hacked into a number of South Korean sites, including the famous brands such as Epson and HSBC.

DNS attacks allow hackers to jump users to any site they want. This type of hacker attack is often not easy to do, mainly by using conventional means such as password attack or vulnerability attack to address the weaknesses in Domain name registration. The more difficult it is for hackers to attack, the more the hackers will be rewarded.

But security vendor Sophos also points out that not all users will be affected by the way the DSN system works.
