A new Hadoop SQL database query engine http://www.aliyun.com/zixun/aggregation/14417.html ">apache Tajo recently won the South Korean telecom operators SK Telecom's favor.
Geun-tae Park, senior manager of SK Telecom Data Technology Laboratory, said:
After extensive research into the currently available data analysis techniques, we found that the Apache hatching Project Tajo was able to perform a large scale analysis of the Hadoop system to better analyze our mass telecommunications operating data.
Park also revealed that with SK Telecom in the open source area of human resources and technical experience, SK Telecom will launch further open source software projects.
According to Park introduced, SK Telecom decided to adopt Tajo, is also a part of SK Telecom Open source strategy, SK is not worried that these open source technology will be adopted by other companies.
As an important complement to the Hadoop system, the Sql-on-hadoop technology such as Tajo is also the key to large data technology such as Hadoop entering the enterprise-class market.
Although Tajo is still in the early stages of development, it has performed well in the test, 3.7 times times faster than hive. It also supports standard ANSI SQL, which is easy to integrate with existing systems. In addition, Tajo is optimized for CPU and memory consumption, and can speed up the analysis process, which also benefits from Tajo to point-to-point query (hoc queries) low latency processing technology.
