Smart routers, we also want these practical features

As the hardware author of 36 Krypton, as of now I have experienced a lot of intelligent routers, for the time being, I haven't been able to describe their brands and models for a while, but in the course of using, I've found that some of the features that improve the user experience have not been added to the product's update iterations, and that some problems directly affect the user's direct-use experience.

Light and sound

Recently because of the hard drive, I installed the millet router back. Of course, I think I have just the need for a smart router with a hard drive, and it's really handy to upload and download.

But we know that each router is equipped with display lights that are normal or not. To be honest, when the night falls and you're just about to lie down and sleep, the light that's not noticeable during the day becomes a bonfire that's far away. Some even keep flashing brightly, and I don't know if OCD and Virgo's friends can still fall asleep when they see this. In a word, it is very annoying when it is lit at night.

The second is the sound of hardware, in which the hard disk accounted for a large number of reasons. If you combine the contents of a paragraph, the Sound and light form a roadblock that blocks your sleep, as if you were just about to sleep, and a "rock concert" would be on the other side of the street. Of course, it's a very different reaction to everyone, but it's bright and ringing, and I guess it's not going to help your sleep.

Energy

Really, the router this thing generally people may not touch once a year, touch the reason is very simple, is the home of the equipment are not connected to the Internet. It is conceivable that once the home WiFi does not occur, the router may be 365 days a year, 24 hours a day in the normal work.

There is no problem at all, but I still need an energy-saving model. That is, it can reduce power as much as possible in the time I set before, and even limit the number of devices connected to the current wifi. Sometimes I deliberately to touch the shell temperature of the router, found that it is also a rough spell, although not hot, but to bring a warm hand problem.

Upgrade

Internet thinking swept through this magical land, the same in the product, the update iteration into software and even hardware manufacturers are eager to do a required course.

When I upgraded I found that this frequent upgrade would upgrade my router to the latest version, have the latest features, but need all of my home networking devices 15 seconds or so, to tell the truth, the upgrade process for the smart router is nothing, but this "black 15 seconds" has become the whole family's "nightmare."

Remote upgrade now seems to be a good idea, the technical threshold is not high, but how to use this function? My idea is to notice that, in addition to weekends, smart routers do not need to be in a hyper-active state at home from morning till night. For example, on the day of the update, mobile apps will push the message that I need a software upgrade to trigger a remote download update, which allows the router to resume working in hibernation, and then go back to sleep after the reboot, until more than 2 devices are connected to the home or to a preset time. The smart router is starting to resume working.
