Tencent Science and Technology (Luosong) Beijing time May 29 news, according to foreign media reports, a new survey shows that social commerce is accelerating into reality, about 40% of online shoppers say they use social media services to evaluate products or find retailers.
The findings come from a collaborative research project in Shop.org,comscore and Social Shopping Labs,--2011 Social Business survey, which covers 1787 adult online shoppers in April 2011.
The survey found that 42% of online shoppers would focus on retailers through facebook,twitter or retailer blogs. 58% of people look at retailers through social networking sites looking for shopping links, 49% want to get product information in real time, and 39% find information about promotional activities.
Social media are accelerating access to online transactions, and about 56% of Facebook users and 67% of Twitter users say they will visit the retailer's site by clicking on the posters in the page, the survey showed.
At the same time, many online shoppers are increasingly using smartphones. 42% of Twitter users and 34% of Facebook users visit the retailer's site at least once a day via their phones. They also use mobile devices to search for information while shopping in physical stores, and 47% of users say they have used mobile devices in stores to browse other users ' shopping experiences.
In addition, 82% of online shoppers said they knew about group buying sites, including groupon,livingsocial and Gilt city, but only 19% said they had traded at either site. Most of the users who took part in group buying were enthusiastic, with 57% of them spending more than 100 dollars on those sites so far.
