Scott Brusaw and Juliebrusaw, a couple of American Idaho State, have developed a solar-powered led road board. The road board is equipped with electric and LED lights, and the road surface is fitted with a sturdy solar panel to serve as a traditional asphalt road. Solar Panels store electricity during the day and power the LED lights at night. According to Juliebrusaw, they are editing programs to allow these lights to display "left turn", "front construction" and other information, hoping that in the future the road Board will be able to publish information like radio.
At present, the two couples have made a second generation of solar panels, the new road plate was designed to be a hexagonal plate, to better adapt to the hills and other slopes of the terrain, and such a combination of the release of the energy of the solar panels can be in the snow to melt the snow.
For small-scale testing, the couple set up a new solar panel on a 12x36 square-foot parking space outside the lab, and after a series of experiments on friction and shock resistance, the road board was able to withstand a load of about 250,000 pounds-equivalent to the weight of 5 heavy trucks laden with cargo.
