Earlier this month, Microsoft first released the news that Xbox One's sales in the UK and the US exceeded PlayStation 4. But just as everyone thought the company was beginning to turn around, Sony decided to use another data to fight back – its 1,193,346 PS4 sold during the Black Five (week) period, making its total sales reach 16 million units. If VGChartz's data are reliable, Microsoft's chances are slim.
VGChartz also points out that Sony and Microsoft are now selling more than 60 million new game consoles respectively. After the launch of the eight-generation machine, Microsoft's software sales this year also ushered in a soaring.
The continuation of Microsoft's "short-lived victory" in November will have to wait until the December data that NPD publishes next month. If Xbox One is able to stick to a year that's cheaper than PS4, there's still hope.
