South Korea's Ministry of Cultural and Sports Tourism recently released the "Prevention and elimination of online game addiction policy."  According to the policy, the Government will implement the game use time limit, strengthen the identity authentication system and other measures, and make relevant laws to standardize the game operators to prevent and eliminate people's excessive addiction to the game. Time limits have been implemented in 4 games, and a further 15 games are planned for this year to cover all games with a share of 79% of the market. More than 75% of South Koreans are online, and the number of people addicted to online games is increasing every year. What is more worrying is that the number of pupils infected with "internet addiction" is increasing, as 38% of primary school students begin to contact the Internet before entering school. For example, many primary and secondary school students infected with "internet addiction" began to play truant, secretly to the Internet cafes, or their own hiding in the home online games, and some teenagers even because parents limit the internet and run away from home. Some adults with "internet addiction" do not concentrate on their work or even go to work. In March of this year, a young couple who had been addicted to online games and neglected to take care of their children, causing their own children to starve to death, shook South Korea's entire society.  The Korean Government's policy is also determined to prevent and eliminate the negative effects of the online gaming industry on the whole society, in order to promote the healthy development of the game industry.
