The rapid growth of the number of Chinese domain names is driving the booming of China's internet industry. As of June 2007, the total number of China's largest land regions reached 9.18 million, a six-month growth of 5.07 million, a 6.23 million increase from the same period in 2006, an average annual growth rate of 211%, the number of Chinese domain names exploded. The main factor driving this growth is the growth of China's top-level domain names, the development of the CN domain.
The development of national top-level domain name is the foundation and guarantee of the development of national Internet, which is of great significance to promote the development of national Internet and safeguard the information security of national Internet. Under the correct leadership of various competent departments, the CN domain name has been fully occupied in China with the continuous efforts of the registered management organization CNNIC and the registered service organizations in China's top state domain. The current number of CN domain names reached 6.15 million, occupy the total number of Chinese domain name nearly 60% (58.9%), the annual growth rate of up to 416.5%, the first comprehensive over the domestic user registration of the universal top-level domain.
Compared with other countries ' top domain names, China has the second highest number of top-level domain names in the world after Germany, with table 3.5.
From the per capita resources, the current average of China's 70 domain names per million, compared to the June 2006 22 domain names increased twice times, the Chinese people enjoy a substantial increase in the basic resources.
