Beijing time May 25 afternoon news, market research company IDC issued a report in Tuesday, said that after the Oracle acquisition, Sun Microsystems Quarterly server hardware sales business 3.5 for the first time growth.  When Oracle announced plans to buy Sun two years ago, Sun's server business had begun to slide, and Sun's server business had fallen more violently as Oracle CEO Ellison Larry ellision The uncertainty over how the sun business was handled. But Oracle has been convincing users to continue using Sun's hardware products last year, and these efforts are now rewarded. Oracle's server sales in the first quarter of this year were 773 million dollars, up from $681 million a year earlier.  This is the first time that Sun's hardware sales have grown since the three quarter of 2007, said Matt Ister Wood, an IDC analyst at Eastwood. IDC said the server market has seen a wide recovery, with sales of 11.9 billion U.S. dollars in the first quarter up 12.1% per cent year-on-year.  The recovery of high-end servers, such as mainframes and UNIX systems, is particularly evident, with Oracle, HP and IBM benefiting from high-end server providers. In terms of revenue, HP remains the world's largest server maker, with a market share of 31.5%,IBM second, but its sales have grown fast and its share has risen to 29.2%, followed by HP.  Dell's share also grew to 15.6%, the third. Only Fujitsu's disappointing performance, its server sales fell 16% Year-on-year, ranked fifth after Oracle.  Mr. Eastwood said the decline in Fujitsu's server sales was affected by the March earthquake and tsunami in Japan. Cisco also had a quarterly server revenue share of 1.6%. (Xiao Ming)
