Survey reports show 68% of American families play video games

Digging the net June 5 according to foreign media reports, the 2009 computer and video game industry Report released by the American Entertainment Software Association (ESA) shows that 68% of American households play video games, a figure that has increased by 3% from 2008.  42% of American families have a game console, the average age of the game is 35 years, and 43% of online gamers are women. "It's a new golden age for entertainment software, and our products are liked by two-thirds of Americans," says Mike Gallaghe, chief executive of ESA, "and statistics show that more and more Americans are receptive to interactive games provided by computer video."
