Survey shows more than half of children under the age of five can play computer games

Recently, antivirus software company AVG has done a market survey that looks at what has changed between technology and children.　　They found that children like to play computer games using the mouse, or use smart phones, more than swimming, tying shoelaces or their breakfast. The survey surveyed 2,200 young children and mothers from the United States, Canada, 5 European countries (UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain), Japan, Australia and New Zealand 2~5岁. The mothers provided a list of the effects of high technology and life skills on their very young children, with the main results as follows: 69% of infants in 2~5岁 know how to use a mouse, but only 11% of children can tie their shoelaces. The proportion of children who can play computer games is as high as 58%, only 20% will swim, and 52% will ride bicycles.　　The findings are not gender-sensitive, and young boys and girls under the age of 5 have essentially the same ability to accept technology. The survey also found that Italian children are best at using mobile phones, and 44% of Italian children know how to make phone calls, while the same proportion of American children is only 25%.　　And 70% of British children play computer games, while American children account for 61%, and in the case of mice, French children beat 67% of the United States by 78%. "With more smartphones and computers today and even replacing television as a tool for education and entertainment, the way parents raise their children will change, or they will not be able to identify their parents in a growing environment," says AVG's ceo,j.r.smith.
