Survey shows Tablet PC as game-specific device or will replace PC

(Compiler/Lin Jie) tablet computers are becoming more popular with many people who catch up with the technology, because you can use it anytime, anywhere, to browse the Web, to send and receive emails, to shop online, and so on, but according to a recent survey, tablets have been used by most people to play games. Google's mobile advertising company, AdMob, launched a survey of 1400 U.S. tablet users in March this year, 84% said they used the device's main function is to play the game, the number of people using tablets to browse the page accounted for 78%, e-mail accounted for 74%,　　Other uses are browsing the news, maintaining social networks, listening to music, watching videos, reading e-books, and shopping online. Not only that, the advent of tablets has also greatly changed people's use of entertainment platforms and electronic equipment habits. Of those surveyed, 28% had already used the tablet as a major computer device, while 77% of people were using tablets far more often than laptops or desktops.　　And as tablets move into everyday life, most people shift to the use of new equipment when they used to read books, listen to radio, play mobile phones, watch TV, and so on. Another interesting figure in the survey is that 62% of people use tablets at night, and the number of users on weekdays (69%) is much higher than the number of users on weekends (31%). And 82% of people choose to use a tablet at home and use it as a portable device, with just 11% to go out.
