According to foreign media September 23, Microsoft announced in Friday a plan to spend 150 million dollars to expand the next generation data center. The data center is located in the southern city of Virginia State, Mecklenburg County, adjacent to Boyton (Boydton).

According to the plan, the expanded data center will add 21 million watts of electricity to the original base.
In fact, as early as August 2010, Microsoft proposed for the first time to invest 499 million dollars in the data center. The investment plan is also the largest investment project ever made in the southern region of Virginia State.
The industry believes that further expansion of the new generation of data centers is actually a part of Microsoft's strategy to improve its cloud computing power.
It is also reported that the project will produce 10 new types of jobs, and 50 new posts will be added in the early stages of the construction.
