Symantec announced today that it has acquired Liveoffice, a http://www.aliyun.com/zixun/aggregation/14039.html "> Private Cloud Computing Index company, with an acquisition price of $115 million." Symantec said in a statement that the acquisition will expand Symantec's cloud-oriented intelligent information management products, to provide customers with more product solutions.
Located in Torrance, California, Liveoffice offers a variety of storage and electronic discovery services that can be applied to mail, instant messaging, social media, file sharing, and other programs. According to the official website, it cooperates with 20,000 companies in 50 countries around the world.
Liveoffice has been integrated with the Clearwell ediscovery platform, which is used primarily to coordinate collected activity information, such as legal action cases. Symantec acquired Clearwell in July 2011.
Liveoffice provides unlimited storage for users, but users pay a certain fee each month. Its cloud storage is linked to many general-purpose programs, such as Microsoft Office 365, Google Apps, Salesforce.com, and Dropbox.
Symantec also announced plans to integrate the Enterprise Vault indexing platform with the Ediscovery platform.
