Taiwan "Internet and e-commerce Industry Development Association" (TIEA) 13th announced the establishment. The association aims to promote the network as the focus of economic development and to help create a network industry environment that encourages innovation and investment.

Taiwan's leaders, Ma Ying-jeou, said at the founding meeting that the development of Taiwan's business and E-commerce could be advanced to a new level and promote the development of other sectors of the economy.

According to McKinsey, an internationally renowned consultancy, Taiwan's network ecosystem has advanced as much as the world's developed regions, and the network industry contributes 5.4% per cent to Taiwan's GDP.
