Add an FTP site

5. If the login site does not require a password, select Anonymous (anonymous) radio in the login type (registration types) area.

6, in the "Port" text box, enter the port of the FTP address, the default value is 21.

Uploading and downloading files

After the site is added, select an FTP in the Site Administration window (note that only one FTP site can be selected) to establish a connection to it. After connecting to the server, the CuteFTP window is divided into about two panes. The left pane displays a list of files for your local hard disk, and the right pane displays a list of files on the remote hard disk. The file list is displayed in exactly the same way as the Windows Resource Manager.

Upload and download can be done by dragging the file or folder icon. You can download files by dragging the files in the right pane to the left pane, dragging the files in the left pane to the right pane, and uploading the files.

Upload and download the biggest difference is: Not all servers or servers in all folders can upload files, require the server to give permission to upload, because the upload needs to occupy the server's hard disk space, and may give the server to bring garbage or viruses and other threats to the server security of things.

Generally, most anonymous FTP servers for communication have a incoming or uploads folder that is designed for anonymous users to upload files. Other subdirectories can only be downloaded and cannot be uploaded. Quick Connect and reconnect

If the connection to the FTP server is interrupted for other reasons, you can select the Ftp>reconnect menu, log back on the FTP server, and go to the folder you just disconnected.
