PCI SSD is another server for the choice of solid-state drives, is quickly recognized by users and the market. As its name implies, this is a solid-state drive connected through a PCI bus. So you can access the CPU directly through a high-speed channel, which gives you a very high-performance choice. Although most PCI can not be booted, they are extremely demanding for high performance, but SATA bandwidth is not enough to meet the performance requirements of the application software is the ideal choice.

The PCI solid-state drive can also be chosen as a low-cost dram memory. A 1TB SSD can be used as memory to replace the dynamic random memory configured in 100 servers, thus enabling greater performance improvement.

The server chooses which solid-state drive to configure depends on what performance problems the user needs to address and what kind of solid-state drives the server is suited to install. Many PCI SSDs require a sufficient volume of PCI slots, and most 1U and 2U servers are not satisfied. In these cases, a hard drive SSD or SSD DIMM is the better choice, or even the only choice, depending on whether there is a hard drive or a dual-row inline memory module available.

A server that configures solid-state drives can be used for a variety of purposes or as a complement and reinforcement of a shared storage infrastructure, rather than as a substitute.
