Elon Musk, Tesla's CEO, announced this week on Twitter that the company will launch a new product in the California Hawthorne Design Studio, Ilon MASC April 30 20:00, which is not a new electric vehicle.
As for what this product is, Musk recently gave a hint in a podcast interview with astrophysicist Nier Teisen Neil degrasse Tyson.
When he was in college, Musk said, he summed up the "5 technologies that have the greatest impact on the future of mankind: the Internet, the production and consumption of sustainable energy, space exploration and the Search for extraterrestrial life, artificial intelligence, and rewriting of human genes".
Musk is working on 3 of these technologies. As the founder of PayPal, he is the pioneer of the Internet. After creating Tesla, he developed sustainable energy solutions for cars. Through SpaceX, he has sent rockets into space.
So is Musk's next plan for artificial intelligence or human gene rewriting? The answer will be announced on April 30.
