Mobile gaming is booming, and the average age of mobile players is significantly lower than last year, a new study suggests.
The Eedar Game research company released a report on the 2014 analysis of mobile phones and tablet games, where data showed that there were 142 million mobile gamers in North America, a significant increase from 111 million last year. In the last year, mobile game players per capita game consumption is 32.65 dollars, the mobile game market total of 4.6 billion U.S. dollars.
The 6% of the players who spend the most money create half the total mobile gaming market, and nearly half of all mobile gamers are adamant about not spending on mobile games.
The average age of mobile gamers is 27.7 years, down 7 years from a year earlier. This is mainly because more bear children have their own mobile phones.
Eedar found that the average age of casual mobile gamers was younger (26 years), and 70% of them were women. The average age of the core player is greater (30 years), mainly male (58%).
The survey data came from 3,500 active mobile gamers who have played mobile games on their mobile phones or tablets over the past three months.
