The two generation one series of smartphones has gained countless acclaim for HTC smartphones.
But HTC One M8, highly praised by many media outlets, cannot save HTC's sales. In the latest report, HTC said its May revenue was only 700 million dollars, down 4.6% and 27.4% compared to last month and the same period last year.
The past spring has been a rare time for handset makers in a year, but HTC missed the period, with May data falling more than last year and the previous years. So far, HTC's revenue figures have fallen by as much as 16.5% per cent year-on-year.
While the second half may be able to save a bit by increasing capacity, HTC's strategy of simply relying on a device to rescue the market clearly needs to change, even if M8 is seen as the clarion call for HTC to return to a front-line Android OEM.
